Announcing the Inaugural NCR Faculty Fellows in Management Appointments

Trevor Collier, Dean of the School of Business Administration, has named Diane Sullivan and Christian Kiewitz as the inaugural NCR Faculty Fellows in Management. Made possible through a generous donation by the NCR Corporation, these appointments will target expansion of research in the areas of leadership and management, and represent the continuation of NCR’s long-standing concern with and support of innovative advances in the Dayton region.

The appointees were nominated by Paul Sweeney, chair of the Department of Management and Marketing. Long-time faculty in the School of Business Administration, both Sullivan and Kiewitz are widely published, active in the Academy of Management, serve on the editorial boards of key journals, and are highly rated teachers in organizational behavior, business strategy, and entrepreneurship.

Since joining the SBA faculty in 2006, Sullivan has worked to achieve the long-term vision of the School and the University through committee work, acclaimed research, and exceptional pedagogy. She is thrilled to have this opportunity to broaden her research impacts. “It is an absolute honor to be appointed as an NCR Faculty Fellow at the University of Dayton. Through NCR’s instrumental and generous support, I will continue to pursue important scholarly research in Management that I hope will enrich academia, inform the business world, and contribute to the betterment of society.”

A member of the SBA faculty since 2002, Kiewitz’s research topics focus on organizational behavior and human resource management, leadership, and entrepreneurship. He serves on the editorial boards for several prestigious journals, and reviews on an ad-hoc basis for numerous other publications. He, too, is grateful for the appointment and the opportunities it brings. “I am delighted to become an inaugural NCR Faculty Fellow in Management. The fellowship will enable me to intensify my research related to micromanagement and entrepreneurial stress, and to work with new scholars as I expand existing collaborations.”

Sullivan and Kiewitz will serve an initial 3-year term. We congratulate them both while looking forward to their future contributions as NCR Faculty Fellows in Management.
