University of Dayton School of Law Now Tied As The Fastest Rising Law School In America

The University of Dayton School of Law is now tied for the title of the fastest rising law school in America based upon the just released 2022 U.S. News & World Report Best Graduate Schools rankings.

The School of Law is 119th among full-time law schools. That ranking is an improvement of 22 spots for UDSL, tied for the largest leap of any law school in the nation.

“We are excited to once again be recognized for the tremendous strides we have made at UDSL,” says Dean Andrew Strauss. “So many, from faculty and staff to students and alumni, have invested in the success of this law school, all have contributed to making it such a special place to get a legal education.”

The improved ranking is part of a trend that has seen UDSL cement its place as a law school on the rise. In recent years, the School of Law has had the most improved bar passage in the country, was one of two schools in the country to see a more than 50% jump in applications, and it has moved up to second in Ohio job placement in bar pass required and J.D. advantage positions.

“One of the best kept secrets in law is now out,” says Dean Strauss. “Those who are familiar with UDSL know how well it prepares students for a career in the legal field. Now, the rest of the country is starting to take notice of the great things happening here.”

In addition to its rising credentials and welcoming atmosphere, UDSL offers students flexibility in how they earn their law degree with its Two-Year J.D., Traditional Three-Year J.D. and Online Hybrid J.D., one of only four online J.D. programs in the country to receive a variance from the ABA. In recent years the School has also expanded to offering a legal masters to non-lawyers in government contracting and an online LL.M. in American and Transnational Law to overseas educated lawyers.
