Joining a Virtual Faith Community

With renewed uncertainties as we begin a new year, we remain resolute to maintain hope and faith.

The Institute for Pastoral Initiatives' Virtual Learning Community for Faith Formation enters its 22nd year of providing online-faith formation classes to adults around the world.

Starting January 17, there are nearly 50 online courses available in English, Spanish and Arabic to grow in faith and become a lifelong learner.

Our adult students tell us the flexibility of being able to learn on their time is crucial to their success as they navigate busy lifestyles. For example, students can read and check in on the discussion boards on Monday, return later in the week to finish at a time convenient for them or wait until the weekend to complete the weekly assignments.

Participants can also choose from three- or five-week courses.

If you’re new to this online format, there are three-week courses such as:

  • Emotional Intelligence & Faith Formation
  • Spiritual essentials for the golden years (Let this be the Time)

Or, choose from our popular five-week classes:

  • Bible Basics
  • Images of Jesus
  • Music in Liturgy

See the full English course list and descriptions here.

To get started on your faith journey with a global community of learners, take a few minutes to create a profile, then log in and register for a class.

With the new year of classes beginning on Martin Luther King Jr. day, a quote from Dr. King: “Faith is taking the first step, even when you don't see the whole staircase.”

VLCFF Classes are year-round click on our calendar for dates of each cycle start and classes offered.  Cost for a five-week course is $50 for participating dioceses.
