As a two time graduate of the University of Dayton, I am excited to put my education and professional experiences to use as a Mental Health Counselor within the campus counseling center. While Fall 2022 officially begins my tenure as a full-time staff member, I previously had the privilege of working with the center as a graduate student intern. As a new hire, I am once again excited to begin an exciting journey here at UD.

While college is a time to learn and grow, it can also bring stress, anxiety, and other hardships. As a counselor, I believe all students have the ability to develop effective coping mechanisms to deal with the challenges of college. I believe in a strength-based and person-centered approach which seeks to explore each client’s unique ways of engaging their cognitive, behavioral, and emotional issues. My ultimate goal is to empower individuals to eventually resolve their problems independent of a mental health professional and reach autonomy.

My theoretical orientation is integrative and holistic but grounded in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. It reflects influences from Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing. My areas of interest include, but are not limited to: anxiety, depression, life transitions, addictions, substance use, relationships, interpersonal communication, eating concerns, and grief/loss.

In my free time I enjoy spending time with my family, hiking, biking, exploring technology, collecting/playing board games, and immersing myself into the mediums of fantasy literature and video games.
