Orientation at UD

Welcome UD Flyers!

During orientation, you'll be introduced to the campus and learn about resources, Marianist traditions, tips to help you be successful and more.

Three required programs shape orientation:

  1. Registration - To register for orientation, log on to Porches at porches.udayton.edu and under Pre-Orientation Modules, watch a quick video to find out what to expect at the event and registration options to consider, such as guests, meal preferences and accommodations, if needed. Select your preferred date and complete the registration form.
  2. Orientation Day - You’ll spend a full day connecting with other Flyers, faculty and staff in small and large group settings as you explore: campus resources and ways to get involved, health and well-being on campus, hear from Flyer Student Services and academic advising based on your major, tour the Residence halls, dining options, and more. An upper division student will be your guide throughout the day and can assist with any questions you may have. There will also be sessions for parents and guardians.
  3. Post-orientation - After attending orientation, you’ll complete post orientation homework. These assignments will be found on Porches. Continue completing items in your Porches checklist and checking your UD email throughout the summer.

Incoming students can register on Porches.

  • Check your UD email regularly for updates and reminders.
  • Pack appropriately for the weather and bring comfortable shoes as you will be walking around campus.
