Updates to campus safety requirements

With COVID-19 cases surging in many areas and stricter new guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention about face coverings, the Path Forward team, after discussion with UD's medical advisory panel and public health officials, announced everyone, whether vaccinated or not, is required to wear face coverings in most public indoor spaces on campus. COVID-19 vaccination clinics scheduled for week of Aug. 16; no appointments needed

The University, Miami Valley Hospital and Premier Health will offer no-appointment, walk-in clinics for UD employees and students Aug. 17-22 at Premier Health After Hours Urgent Care located in Marianist Hall, across from the Student Health Center and above the bookstore. 

  • Hours are: 1:30-4:30 p.m. Aug. 17, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Aug. 18 and 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Aug. 19-22.  
  • The date of your second dose will be booked for this location at the time of your first dose. If you have received your first dose of any vaccine, DO NOT ATTEND THIS CLINIC. 
  • There is no out-of-pocket cost; but it may be submitted to your insurance to cover administration fees. Bring your insurance card, UD ID and driver's license or passport. Premier Health will assist those on-site who do not have health insurance. 
  • Drink plenty of fluids and eat a meal or snack before your vaccine
  • After you receive your vaccination, use this confidential reporting form to report your COVID-19 vaccination and upload your vaccination record.  

COVID-19 webpages updated 

The University has updated, consolidated and streamlined its COVID-19 dashboard, A-Z index, general FAQ and health resource pages. Employees and students can continue to find links to the dashboard, index and reporting your COVID-19 vaccine, plus a new link to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention's COVID-19 information page, at the top of every UD webpage. The index has an updated list of resources and features highlighted links to UD's COVID-19 health resources and FAQs. If you have a question not answered by the pages, please direct it to


Industrial Assessment Center wins federal grant to continue free energy assessments

UD's Industrial Assessment Center is set to receive nearly $2 million from the U.S. Department of Energy to continue free energy assessments for small- to mid-sized manufacturers in the region and train the next generation of energy-engineering professionals. Read more here.

The Office of eLearning is now the Center for Online Learning

The Office of eLearning is now the Center for Online Learning at the recommendation of the Enterprise Online Learning Task Force convened in fall 2020 to identify strategies for strengthening online learning at UD. This name change better reflects the role the unit will have in advancing online learning initiatives at UD. Staff have been realigned to devote more resources to exploring new online learning opportunities, developing professional development programming, and enhancing the visibility of online programs. Upload your COVID vaccine record 

Employees and students are encouraged to upload their vaccination records (even if you've only had one dose of a two-dose vaccine) to UD's confidential portal by scanning it or taking a picture with your phone.

Libraries catalog redesign launches Aug. 4

University Libraries' new, simplified interface for its catalog will launch Wednesday, Aug. 4. The new interface features responsive design, meaning that the catalog will resize for a monitor, tablet, smartphone or other device. It also has higher-contrast colors, optional keyboard navigation and other features to improve accessibility. Read more here.
