THREE THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW

Upload your COVID-19 vaccine record 

With COVID-19 cases increasing in many areas of the country due to the delta variant, unvaccinated individuals continue to be at risk. Employees and students are encouraged to upload their vaccination records (even if you've only had one dose of a two-dose vaccine) to UD's confidential portal by scanning it or taking a picture with your phone. While safety protocols have been eased, safety requirements for campus may be reinstated at any time on short notice if pandemic conditions change. 

ETHOS Center restructures, names inaugural leaders

The University’s ETHOS Center completed a restructuring last month to provide more experiential learning opportunities for students through internships, collaborative research, hands-on classroom projects and support of student organization activities. Kelly Bohrer was named the center’s inaugural executive director and Scott Schneider will be the inaugural ETHOS Professor for Leadership in Community beginning Aug. 16. College of Arts and Sciences adds student success coordinators for new, transfer students

Two new staff members will provide students in the College of Arts and Sciences with faster and more consistent access to academic advising and campus resources, including medical and mental health services and tutoring and career services support. Robert “Bobby” Beebe ’15 will coordinate student success services related to curriculum and work with transfer students. Holly Bruner will manage student success services for the college’s assistant deans and faculty advisors. Read more on the College of Arts and Sciences blog

Women's rowing team seeks student-athletes

UD's varsity women's rowing team is recruiting new members and will be sharing information at the Up the Orgs activity fair and in first-year residence halls. Rowing experience is not necessary; almost any athletic ability translates well to this sport. As student-athletes, team members receive academic support and other benefits. Interested students can contact novice coach Trish Miles at tmiles2@udayton.edu.

Summer 2021 University of Dayton Magazine now available online

The newest issue of University of Dayton Magazine is available online only. The cover feature highlights the hopes and dreams of graduates of the class of 2021. Other highlights include books, podcasts, films, art and more by creative Flyers.

Dayton named emerging hub for tech job growth

Real estate firm CBRE placed the Dayton region among the top 50 North American regions for technology-oriented talent and job growth. A Dayton Daily News article about the report quoted a senior CBRE associate who cited UD among local institutions as “direct talent pipelines” for hiring. Read the article here.
