Lindsay Maxam joined the University of Dayton in 2012 and currently serves as the University Auditor and Risk Specialist.  Previously, Lindsay worked in Housing and Residence Life and the Dean of Students Office at the University specializing in case management, crisis response and intervention, and threat assessment.  She received her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Finance from the College of Charleston and her Master of Public Administration from a joint program between the University of South Carolina and the College of Charleston.  Lindsay is currently a candidate in the PhD of Educational Leadership program.

The Internal Audit and Enterprise Risk Management team uses a risk-based methodology that is applied to processes at the University. Internal Audit assists the University in accomplishing its mission by bringing a systematic, disciplined approach to evaluating its processes and offering recommendations to improve internal controls to manage risk. Enterprise risk management enhances the University’s ability to achieve its mission, vision, and strategic objectives by fostering an institution-wide culture of risk and opportunity awareness. The team serves as an independent business partner and approaches reviewing risks and internal controls with a collaborative and consultative approach.

Lindsay is very community-driven and spends much of her out of office time volunteering with the Boonshoft Museum of Discovery, the Junior League of Dayton, and the Montgomery County Imagination Library.  Because of her commitment to community, Lindsay was recognized by the Dayton Business Journal in 2022 as a 40 Under 40 recipient and selected to participate in the Leadership Dayton program in 2020.
