Profile

Mr. Brandt is the Chief of the Criminal Division at the Montgomery County Prosecutor’s Office. He joined the Prosecutor’s Office in 1997, where he has served previous assignments in the Child Support Enforcement Division, the Child Protection Unit, the Intake/Grand Jury Division, as a trial/docket attorney in the Criminal Division, and as a Trial Team Supervisor in the Criminal Division. In 2007, Mr. Brandt was promoted to the Violent Crimes Bureau, which is responsible for prosecuting and trying all homicides and other high-profile cases. Mr. Brandt is a graduate of the University of Toledo College of Law and Miami University in Oxford, Ohio.

Mr. Brandt is a member of the Dayton Bar Association and the National District Attorneys Association. He is a past member of the Board of Trustees and Past Secretary of the Dayton Bar Association, past Chair of both the Criminal Law Committee and the Certified Grievance Committee of the Dayton Bar Association, Past Co-Chair of the Dayton Bench-Bar Conference, Master Emeritus of the Carl D. Kessler Inn of Court, Fellow of the Dayton Bar Foundation, a member of The Lawyers Club of Dayton, and is appointed as a Commissioner to the Ohio Supreme Court Commission on the Rules of Practice and Procedure. Mr. Brandt has previously served as faculty at the National College of District Attorneys, National Advocacy Center in Columbia, South Carolina, instructing in the areas of Trial Advocacy and Cross-Examination.
