This scholarship is named in honor of Dr. James R. Schneider, a member of the Department of Physics from 1964 to 1983, serving as both professor and department chair from 1975 to 1983.
Upon his passing, this scholarship was established in his name. Preference is given to third and fourth year physics majors, with the recipients being selected by the department chair in consultation with the faculty.
This scholarship is named in honor of Marjorie Blasius Corcoran, who was chair of the Department of Physics at Rice University until her passing. This scholarship supports students in their second, third and fourth years pursuing a major in a STEM field.
First preference is given to female students majoring in physics.
This scholarship was established in 2010 by Philip Anthony in memory of his wife. Dr. and Mrs. Anthony graduated from the University of Dayton, both majoring in physics.
Preference is given to students who are studying in the areas of physics or mathematics in the College of Arts and Sciences.
