Minor in Theology, Catechesis

The Minor in Theology–Catechesis offers an excellent opportunity to prepare to teach religion (catechesis) in Catholic schools or parish ministry today, whether as a full-time vocation or as a volunteer. The Minor is grounded in the official principles of catechesis required by the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops, and incorporates the basic courses required by most dioceses across the country for achieving diocesan certification in content, methodology, and praxis experiences.

The minor requirements include participation in UD's Forum for Young Catechetical Leadership (a 4-credit experience),  REL 328 (US Catholic Experience), and 4 REL courses in each of the following areas: scripture, liturgy/sacraments, morality/ethics, and ecclesiology/church history.
