Applications are accepted year-round with a rolling admission process. Applicants are encouraged to apply at least one semester prior to beginning the MPAcc.

Waived for UD undergraduate accounting majors.

All other applicants:

• GMAT (minimum 500 and 19 on verbal) or
• GRE (minimum verbal of 149 and quantitative of 146)

Upon consideration of the following options, the GMAT/GRE requirement may be waived at the discretion of the MPAcc Committee:

Option one:

• A bachelor's degree in accounting from an AACSB, Equis, or AMBA accredited institution
• Satisfactory completion of prerequisite accounting courses (See Below)

Option two:

• A minimum of three years of relevant accounting work experience or CIA, CFE, CGFM, CMA CPA, or CPA with reciprocity licensure. 
• Satisfactory completion of prerequisite accounting courses (See Below)

Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 (overall and in prerequisite accounting coursework).

Automatic conditional acceptance for UD accounting majors having completed at least 9 upper-level accounting credit hours with

• Overall GPA of 3.0 or higher
• Accounting GPA of 3.0 (based on upper-level accounting courses) and
• C or higher in all upper-level accounting courses

Applicants not meeting these conditions will be reviewed by the MPAcc Committee.

All applicants must submit a current resume.

Non-UD Accounting majors and International Students must submit official academic records of previously attended colleges or universities to the Office of Graduate Admission Processing. For transcripts not in English, an English translation must be included.

Prerequisite coursework should be taken at an AACSB, Equis, or AMBA accredited institution, or at a university with an international reputation as a leader in higher education. If completed outside the United States, supporting documentation (e.g., syllabi) should be provided to enable the evaluation of the course and its equivalence to prerequisite requirements.

All international students without a U.S. degree are required to submit English proficiency scores meeting specific requirements. Use the link below to learn more about the English Proficiency Options. Scores should be sent directly to the University of Dayton from the testing center using code 1834.

F-1 and J-1 students must provide a letter of financial support and a bank statement showing sufficient funds to cover the first year of study. 

International Student applicants will have an interview with MPAcc Committee

A limited number of graduate assistantships are available on a competitive basis.
