About Student Transitions and Family Programs

Vision

Fostering successful transitions for all students and families while honoring the Marianist tradition.

Mission Statement

The STFP team fosters transitional experiences that support the diverse needs of students, helping to co-create developmental and peer-led programs focused on the pillars of commitment to community (SERVE), ownership of learning (LEARN), and active leadership in their vocational journey (LEAD). Our programs guide students and families through various transitions starting from the moment the student confirms enrollment to the day they walk across the stage to graduate.

goals

In order to support the successful transition of students and their families, STFP is dedicated to:

  • Facilitating introductions to university values, Marianist traditions, and guiding principles.
  • Connecting students and families with campus partners and community constituents.
  • Preparing a diverse group of student leaders to provide competent, knowledgeable, and inclusive support for students and their families.
  • Encouraging community building and a sense of belonging by creating inclusive physical and digital environments.
  • Communicating timely resources and information to students and their families in an ongoing manner.
